New Product - RS-232 Transceiver

The WESROC Remote Monitoring System (RMS) RS-232 Transceiver is a WESROC Local Area Network to RS-232 "Hub". The RS-232 Transceiver is constantly in radio frequency packet receive mode. When a legitimate, properly formatted, WESROC transmitter packet is received, the data is then sent through the RS-232 asynchronous serial data port. The data is sent in a comma-delimited ASCII format and terminated with an end-of-line sequence.

The intended purpose of the WESROC RS-232 Transceiver is to facilitate integrating Wesroc RMS transmitters into any system that is capable of receiving asynchronous data through a serial port. The following WESROC RMS transmitters are presently supported:
MT9100-TNK Tank Level Transmitter Series
MT9100-TMP Temperature Sensor Transmitter Series
MT9100-TMP-A Alarm Switch Closure Transmitter
MT9100TGM-S Gas Meter for ICE Index Encoders

The new WESROC RS-232 Transceiver is designed for special situations. Example:a few months ago we had a customer that required one of their propane tanks to never exceed 73%. At that time we wrote custom software for the Handheld PDU that would start beeping at 73% (instead of the normal 80%). We could now accomplish this with the RS-232 and maintain a historical record using a PC with a terminal emulator.

Typical end-user applications of the WESROC RMS RS-232 Transceiver are:

Industrial Control Systems - Integrate R3D compatible Liquid Tank Levels, Temperatures, 4-20mA current loops, etc... into decision making processes for display and control purposes and alarm notifications.

Home Automation Systems - Provide the homeowner with Console access to the propane level in their tank, their current natural gas usage, pool temperatures, etc.

Field Data Collection Systems - The WESROC RS-232 Transceiver used in conjunction with an RS-232 Data Logger can be used to diagnose field problems using exact time stamps related to events regarding fuel levels, temperatures, etc.

Continuous Real-Time Data Collection for Regulatory Purposes - Applications requiring direct, constant, monitoring for product safety (fuel levels not exceeding industry safety standards), food safety (freezer and cooler temperatures not exceeding specific thresholds). Both the WESROC Tank Transmitter and Temperature Transmitter use an adaptive Transmission method which means all changes both subtle and dramatic will be captured.

Simple Data Collection using a Terminal Emulator - Using any Terminal Emulator in Windows, Linux, or OSX, data from all transmitters within radio frequency range of the MT9100-XCVR will be captured and saved (if desired). The unit is also compatible with WESROC MT9100R Repeaters to extend transmission range. Data from all Wesroc RMS transmitters will be captured
